CHAPELS & CHURCHES. CRETE . The chapel paintings represent some of my heartfelt ramblings around the Island of Crete. In the middle of nowhere one stumbles upon a small crumbly chapel... the door is unlocked... you peep inside... The experiences carry a richness of antiquity represented in the frescos and icons - some from the 10th - 12th century. Each weathered by invasions and time. The underlying rememberance of these places of worship is the human need to commune in oness and peace, wherever we live on the planet.
